Amanda Lemos Ready To Get Past ‘Slip’, Defend Her Spot

UFC strawweight Amanda Lemos took some time away after losing her last fight to heal and prepare for Iasmin Lucindo who she faces at UFC 313 on Saturday night.

Lemos had said her loss to Virna Jandiroba was a result of a ‘slip’.

“I said that because I really had prepared well for that fight. So I felt like that was a slip. I really wanted to work on the mistakes,” Lemos told reporters including Cageside Press through a translator on Wednesday.

“I was in a little cocoon for a second there to prepare better for this fight to be ready for this one.”

Lemos (14-4-1) gets an up-and-comer in Iasmin Lucindo who comes in on a 4-fight win streak and on complete fire looking to move up the rankings.

“I know she’s coming off a win. She’s an up-and-comer. The biggest thing here is she wants my spot. I’m not going to give it to her,” she said.

“It’s good for us, it’s good for girls, to have that kind of representation. We love to have fighters like that. As far as facing a Brazilian I’m used to it. I’m very ready to defend my spot and to face her.”
