Jey Uso’s got jokes about Travis Scott’s stiff slap of Cody Rhodes

The WWE champ apparently downplayed reports that rapper Travis Scott injured him with a stiff slap during the closing angle of Elimination Chamber on Mar. 1, but we saw the slap — and the damage on Cody Rhodes’ face when he appeared on SmackDown last Friday.

Rumor is there was some heat on Scott for his mistake, but it’s clear WWE isn’t backing down from plans to continue to use the “Butterfly Effect” rapper in the WrestleMania 41 program between Cody and the now-heel John Cena. And if the locker room is pissed at Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s ally Scott, you wouldn’t know it from how Jey Uso responded when Peter Rosenberg brought it up on Cheap Heat.

After talking about Jey’s entrance with Scott on Raw’s Netflix premiere, Rosenberg laughingly asked the 2025 Royal Rumble winner, “ asked him, “Why’d Travis Scott hit Cody in the face like that, bro?”

Uso smiled and replied:

“Man, somebody ain’t tell him how to work-slap him? Yo man, he probably too damn lit. I don’t know.”

Did Jey mean “lit” as in Scott was amped up, or “lit” as in Scott was intoxicated? Seeing as Uso probably inhaled some of Travis’ blunt smoke during their moment on the Netflix premiere, we’re guessing the latter. No matter, though. Jey was still having fun when Rosenberg asked if he would have been “hot” if Scott had hit him like that, or if he’d have been “like, ‘hey, it’s good business’”?

“If he would have slapped me like that? Oh hell nah. I probably would’ve looked up, uce [mimes shielding his face, looking up with a scowl and shaking his head, and then shielding his face again]… ‘This dude just hit me like Sheamus.’”

We don’t know if everyone in the locker room is taking Scott’s botch as well, but Main Event Jey clearly seems unfazed.
