Day 3 at the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami will see the debut of the seeds, including the most decorated player in this tournament’s history, Novak Djokovic, who will be playing in Miami for the first time since 2019 and will be looking to get back to form after an early exit in Indian Wells. It will also feature many American players in what should be a great day of tennis.
ATP Miami Day 3 Predictions
Sebastian Korda vs Eliot Spizzirri
Head-to-head: first meeting
After a long injury absence, Korda had a nice start to the season with a final in Adelaide but has been disappointing since. That said, on paper he has a clear edge in this matchup against his fellow American and should be able to come through and perhaps start another good Masters 1000 run in a year where he really needs to establish himself as a force.

Alex Michelsen vs Camilo Ugo Carabelli
Head-to-head: Michelsen 1-0 Carabelli
Michelsen has been steadily rising up the rankings and is now a seed in these events. While he has shown no signs of being able to compete for big titles any time soon, he is a very solid player on hard courts and on this surface he should be able to dismantle Carabelli, who has reached the main draw as a lucky loser and had a very kind first round draw to get this far.

Brandon Nakashima vs Roberto Carballes Baena
Head-to-head: first meeting
Nakashima has been playing at a very good level and having some nice runs lately, getting to seeding range at Masters 1000 events. Carballes Baena would be a very dangerous opponent on clay, but on a hard court and especially at home Nakashima should have a very clear edge here and make it through to the third round.

Rinky Hijikata vs Novak Djokovic
Head-to-head: Djokovic 1-0 Hijikata
Djokovic’s post-Australian Open performances have been quite disappointing thus far but he has a great opportunity to get back on track here in a tournament he hasn’t played since 2019 but where he is the most decorated player. When the pair faced in Adelaide in the first week of the season, Djokovic won with relative comfort and the same should happen here.
