With her last singles match having taken place in May 2011, Michelle McCool has teased the possibility of a WWE return.
McCool competed in a Loser Leaves WWE match at 2011 Extreme Rules PLE, losing to Layla.
She has competed in several battle royal style matches since then, appearing in the 2018, 2022 and 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble matches and the 20 Women Battle Royal at WWE Evolution 2018.
McCool recently fuelled speculation about a potential return on Twitter, noting that she’s confident she can still go in the ring.
During a recent interview on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, McCool opened up about the possibility of stepping back into the ring.
The first-ever WWE Divas Champion would reveal that she feels she could make a comeback, even if it’s just for a short period, saying:
“I feel like I could too. My mind tells me I can. Sometimes I’m like, I can’t believe it’s been 20 years, which is crazy to say. But, I am 44 now.
“I do feel like I could, at least for a very short amount of time, I can get in there and do it.”
Reflecting on her last singles match in WWE, McCool would reveal that she has fond memories of the match, stating:
“I was happy with my last match for sure, it’s one of my favorite matches. I think Layla and I had a great match, I think we told a great story. Then, Awesome Kong coming out for her debut, which we only knew minutes before.”
With her first appearance in WWE since leaving in 2011 being that the 2018 Royal Rumble, McCool also revealed it was her daughter who helped her decide to take that opportunity, explaining:
“I did my first Rumble when my daughter was in kindergarten. We didn’t have merch back then and they actually presented me with a shirt, I’m like, ‘She can watch me wrestle and I get a shirt with my name on it now?’ That’s why I did it.
“Then, that little turd came to the show. She’s going around catering with my parents. She’s like, ‘Mommy, Joe from merch gave me a Naomi shirt.’ She puts the Naomi shirt over my shirt. I’m like, hold up, this is messed up. I’m doing this for you kid, show a little love. I did that for her to see me wrestle. My son hasn’t seen me wrestle, so, I mean…”
Since 2010, McCool has been married to Mark Calaway, better known to WWE fans as The Undertaker, with the couple having two children, Kaia and Kolt.
