Though she wasn’t ready to make impromptu fashion alterations with a pair of scissors this time around (Alyssa Farah Griffin: You’re safe!), Whoopi Goldberg still paused The View‘s latest live broadcast to identify a potential threat to the show’s aesthetic vibe.
Sunny Hostin? You’re in danger, girl, after the cohost and legal expert dared to wear a loud yellow top adorned with large flowers on Monday morning’s broadcast — much to the shock and awe of the Oscar-winning moderator.
Goldberg became distracted by Hostin’s fashion during a discussion about Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reigniting left-wing passion via highly attended recent political rallies, with the Ghost actress halting the Hot Topics chat to call out Hostin’s shirt.

While Goldberg estimated that American citizens are “really kind of annoyed” about what’s going on in the nation’s government “much more than we were seeing perhaps in the media and on different shows,” she stopped to point out Hostin’s clothing.
“You are really floral today” Goldberg said with a shocked look on her face. “I am. It’s like a spring explosion,” Hostin replied, while Sara Haines called the outfit “garden-chic” on the side.
“Okay, okay, it took me by surprise, I must say,” Goldberg said, before carrying on with the show as normal.

Hostin’s springtime fashion barrage might’ve courted Goldberg’s gaze, though longtime panelist Joy Behar still takes the cake when it comes to absurd seasonal kickoffs on The View. During a cozy cooking segment in November, the 82-year-old welcomed fall by reminding her colleagues that she once stabbed herself.
“Listen,” Behar said. “A couple of years ago I got what they call Avocado Hand. Be very careful when you cut an avocado. I stabbed myself, I had to go to the hospital, yes.”
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on ABC.
