The second Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour event is scheduled to take place in Paris between April 7 and 14. As part of our announced partnership with Freestyle Chess, we offer a qualification path for each event to any of our members. The Qualifiers for the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Paris are happening this weekend!
Qualifiers are open to all players who meet the following criteria:
- Accounts must be at least 90 days old
- Must have a minimum of 50 rated rapid games played on Chess.com
- Must not be a titled player

The registration deadline is Friday, March 7, at 11 a.m. ET/17:00 CET/9:30 p.m. IST. Only players who fill out the form and meet the above-listed criteria will be added to the Play-in Club. All players in the club must have their real name listed in their profile.
Please note that if you have filled out the form in January and are already in the Play-in Club, you do not have to fill out the form again to be eligible to play.
Date and times of the Qualifiers for the Freestyle Chess Play-In Paris:
- March 8, Saturday: 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET / 17:00 CET/ 9:30 p.m. IST / 00:00 (+1) China
- March 9, Sunday: 5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET / 13:00 CET/ 5:30 p.m. IST / 20:00 China
*** Please note that daylight saving time begins on Sunday, March 9, at 2 a.m. in the U.S. However, the rest of the world does not adjust their clock until later in the month! Please make sure to check your local start time because it might be different than the previous event.
Format of the Qualifiers:
- Each qualifier will be a nine-round Swiss tournament, with all games at the 10+2 time control.
- There is a scheduled 6-minute break after round 4 and round 7.
- Players will earn 1 point for a win, ½ point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.
- The top three players from each Open Qualifier will be eligible to participate in the corresponding Swiss Stage.
- The final result is based on game points and tiebreak scores.
