Report: Sixers trade Caleb Martin to Mavericks for Quentin Grimes

The Philadelphia 76ers have made their first move at the trade deadline. They will move on from a big addition they made in the offseason who has been dealing with injuries, but has been on the way back from a groin and hip issue.

The Sixers will send Caleb Martin to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Quentin Grimes and will get their own 2025 second-round pick back from the Mavs. Martin played in 31 games for the Sixers and averaged 9.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists while shooting 43.5% from the floor and 37.9% from deep.

As for the return, Grimes is averaging 10.2 points while shooting 39.8% from deep for the Mavericks in 47 games with 12 starts. One has to believe he will slide into Philadelphia’s rotation and provide some floor spacing.

It is interesting timing when considering the Sixers will face the Mavericks on Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Center. Martin will just have to go down the hall to the visitor’s locker room and will look to make an impact in Dallas.
