Sports Seriously
The NHL heads outdoors for the second and final time this season when the Columbus Blue Jackets host the Detroit Red Wings in the 2026 NHL Stadium Series from Ohio Stadium on Saturday night.
This marks the first time the Blue Jackets have ever participated in a Winter Classic/Stadium Series game before, with the franchise soon to pass their point totals from each of the last two years in what’s been a resurgent and emotional campaign for Columbus following the passing of star forward and New Jersey native Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew in a biking accident last August.
Not far ahead of them are the Red Wings who are red-hot, winners of nine of their last 11 games and are trying to end their longest playoff drought in franchise history (eight years).
